Papua New Guinea airports begin clean up after volcanic eruptions

    Papua New Guinea‘s National Airports Corporation commenced removing ash from runways and taxiways following the eruptions of Mount Ulawun on 26-Jun-2019 and Mount Manam on 28-Jun-2019 (TVNZ, 01-Jul-2019). Air Niugini said it is closely monitoring ongoing volcanic activity and will resume regular scheduled services when safe to do so.
