Qantas Group to launch three new services to Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay, increases capacity

Qantas Group announced (19-Feb-2021) plans to launch the following services to support growing demand for holidays in Australia:

  • Melbourne-Coffs Harbour: Daily with Boeing 717 equipment, adding more than 1750 weekly seats;
  • Brisbane-Coffs Harbour: Four times weekly with turboprop Q400 equipment, adding approximately 600 weekly seats;
  • Canberra-Byron Bay: Twice weekly with turboprop Q400 equipment, to initially operate in Apr-2021, with plans to look to continue the service from Jul-2021 in line with demand. It will be Qantas' first nonstop service connecting the destinations.

Qantas plans to introduce Boeing 717 equipment to its Sydney-Coffs Harbour service in the Apr-2021 school holidays, operating alongside Q400 equipment. This will see approximately 500 additional weekly seats, with the option to travel in business class. [more - original PR]
