Royal Schiphol Group CEO 'disappointed' at decision to postpone Lelystad Airport opening

22 February, 2018

Royal Schiphol Group president and CEO Jos Nijhuis said (21-Feb-2018) he is "disappointed" at Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management's decision to postpone opening of Lelystad Airport. Expansion of Lelystad Airport was the solution to growth in Dutch air traffic, Mr Nijhuis continued. "Aviation in the Netherlands now has to wait longer for the implementation of a political and social decision taken 10 years ago" Mr Nijhuis argued. As previously reported by CAPA, Lelystad Airport expansion is expected to free up aircraft movement capacity for Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. [more - original PR - Dutch]
