Southwest Airlines changes costs of using rapid rewards points to purchase tickets

Southwest Airlines has announced changes to the costs of using rapid rewards points to purchase tickets, effective 04-Apr-2018. Passengers will pay “slightly more”, or 6% more, to travel using the ‘wanna get away fare’ and 35% less when choosing the ‘business select’ fare and 22% less for the ‘anytime’ fare. Southweststressed the “key tenets” of the loyalty programme, including no blackout dates, award seats and points that do not expire, are “completely unaffected by these changes”.
