Southwest 'encouraged' by improvement in 2Q2021 business revenues

Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly stated (22-Jul-2021) leisure passenger traffic in Jun-2021 rebounded above Jun-2019 levels, while passenger fares were comparable with Jun-2019. Mr Kelly said based on current bookings, leisure passenger traffic and fares in Jul-2021 are expected to trend higher than Jul-2019 levels. He added business revenues "continue to lag" leisure revenue trends, adding however the carrier is "encouraged" by the improvement in business revenues in 2Q2021.
