SriLankan Airlines still aims to commence pax service to Sydney

13 April, 2021

SriLankan Airlines chairman Ashok Pathirage reported the airline is operating to most of its pre COVID-19 outbreak international destinations, although in many cases is operating freight services to these destinations, rather than passenger services (Routes Online, 12-Apr-2021). Mr Pathirage noted: "We are flying into India, China and Japan. We are flying mostly cargo into the UK". He added that SriLankan aims to commence passenger services to Sydney, Rome, Frankfurt and Seoul in the future, stating: "We want to fly into our second destination in Australia, to Sydney".
