8 November, 2020

Tasmania's Premier Peter Gutwein announced (07-Nov-2020) plans for Tasmania's Government to provide AUD5.1 million (USD3.7 million) in the 2020/21 State Budget towards Launceston Airport's departure and arrival expansion. Total cost of the combined projects at the airport is AUD10.3 million (USD7.5 million), with the airport contributing the remaining funds. Government funding also contributes to the development cost of a new cargo facility at the airport to service increased air freight movement and to better support Tasmania's live seafood, agriculture and general freight movements to both domestic and international markets.
