US TSA to fine travellers who refuse to wear face masks

8 February, 2021

US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reported travellers refusing to wear face masks will be fined from USD250 to USD1500 (Business Insider, 06-Feb-2021). The TSA is also authorised to implement fines out of that range depending on the situation. As previously reported by CAPA, US Department of Homeland Security issued a determination enabling the TSA to implement President Joe Biden's executive order on safe travel. Passengers are now required to wear a mask at TSA screening checkpoints and throughout the commercial and public transportation system.
