US TSA to fine travellers who refuse to wear face masks

US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reported travellers refusing to wear face masks will be fined from USD250 to USD1500 (Business Insider, 06-Feb-2021). The TSA is also authorised to implement fines out of that range depending on the situation. As previously reported by CAPA, US Department of Homeland Security issued a determination enabling the TSA to implement President Joe Biden’s executive order on safe travel. Passengers are now required to wear a mask at TSA screening checkpoints and throughout the commercial and public transportation system.
