Vietnam Airlines to proceed with plans for US flights in late Oct-2021

27 August, 2021

Vietnam Airlines (VNA) CEO Le Hong Ha reported the carrier will move forward with plans to start its first flights to the US in late Oct-2021 (Business Times/AJOT, 26-Aug-2021). VNA intends to use either Boeing 787 or A350 aircraft for its Ho Chi Minh City-San Francisco service, which will also transport cargo to offset initially low passenger demand. Mr Le added: "We forecast travel demand in 2022 will be just about 25% of 2019".
