WestJet extends COVID-19 travel insurance coverage to include the US

WestJet announced (25-Sep-2020) the extension of its COVID-19 travel insurance coverage to include passengers travelling to, through or from the US. The insurance covers up to CAD200,000 (USD149,419) in COVID-19 related costs for air only and vacation reservations, and will retroactively include all bookings made as of 18-Sep-2020. WestJet chief commercial officer Arved von zur Muehlen stated: "Our research shows that a lack of COVID insurance is a considerable barrier to travel and our guests were seeking the inclusion of US destinations to our travel insurance offering".
