AoT requests IATA, ICAO revision for Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport development

Airports of Thailand (AoT) president Nitinai Sirismatthakarn reported the company submitted updated data to IATA for a revision of Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport's development project (The Star/Nation Thailand, 08-Feb-2021). Mr Sirismatthakarn said AoT is also negotiating with ICAO for a further revision of IATA's approved plan. He added: "If the ICAO says they cannot wait for IATA to finish, we will ask them to start work on the framework immediately so that the project can start as scheduled". The project includes the expansion of the eastern and western terminals with a budget of THB7.83 billion (USD261.1 million) per terminal, aiming to increase space by 66,000sqm per terminal. The development aims to accommodate 15 million passengers per terminal p/a.
