Boeing confirms Emirates as 777X launch customer, set for mid-2020 entry into service

Boeing VP Sales for Middle East, Turkey, Russia and Central Asia Marty Bentrott confirmed Emirates will be the launch customer for the 777X (Gulf News/The Seattle Times, 04-OCt-2017). Mr Bentrott said Emirates is "actually ahead of its original mid-2020 schedule to receive its first 777X aircraft". Emirates displaces Lufthansa as launch customer for the aircraft. Emirates ordered 150 777X aircraft in 2013, comprising 35 777-8Xs and 115 777-9Xs.
