Germany saw traditional travel agents increase combined sales 4.6% year-on-year in 2017 to EUR26.4 billion (FVW, 21-Jun-2018). Online travel agencies (OTAs) however are steadily winning market share, with online channels accounting for 40% of German organised travel in 2017, up from 35% in 2014. OTA sales now account for almost EUR26 billion.
