Tourism NZ: 95% of New Zealanders think international tourism is good for the country

Tourism New Zealand reported (02-Nov-2017) a survey conducted by Angus & Associates on perceptions of tourism shows that 95% of in New Zealanders think international tourism is good for the New Zealand and 91% believe it is good for their region. The survey is a part of the ongoing Visitor Insights Programme. The results mirror the findings from the latest 'Mood of the Nation' survey which puts the support for international tourism at 96%. The survey also shows there is some concern about the pressure tourism, particularly international tourism, is placing on New Zealand and the regions. 44% of respondents think international visitors are putting too much pressure on the country, (compared with 35% in Mood of the Nation) and 30% feel there is too much pressure on their region.
